Local nonprofit The Playful Child is hosting a birthday giveaway and fundraiser on April 21.
The events are in honor of the 6th birthday of Kade Damian, the inspiration behind The Playful Child and their mission, who passed away at three years old.
“Kade Damian was born on his due date, April 21, 2015,” according to Kade’s Krusaders. “Kade was the Damian Family’s middle son and enjoyed 1065 days filled with love, laughter, adventure, and life. On March 22, 2018, his life ended in a tragic accident. He would have been 3 years old one month later.”
In his memory, Sugar Mommy’s has teamed up with The Playful Child to giveaway 21 cupcakes on Wednesday, April 21 to the first 21 customers who come to the shop starting at 11 AM. Throughout the day, customers can also purchase treats themed and decorated around Kade’s favorite things.
The Playful Child has also teamed up with Cattle & Cakes Co. to giveaway a birthday cake.
“🎂The Damian Family, Playful Child, and Cattle & Cakes Co. are excited to honor Kade’s 6th birthday with a cake giveaway” according to the event. “Kade LOVED sweets and we hope that he will help make your day a little bit sweeter.”
To enter the giveaway, donate a preferred minimum of $20 (or more!) to The Playful Child via this link before Wednesday, April 21. The organization will match each donation! The winner of the cake will be announced April 21.
All donations from this fundraiser will go toward the planning and building of The Kade Damian Healing Hearts Park.
“This 6-acre park…will be located at 1306 Country Club Road in Georgetown, TX,” according to The Playful Child. “This project is being completed in partnership with the City of Georgetown and the Parks & Rec department. The Kade Damian Healing Hearts Park will be a public children’s memorial park and play space with a focus on nature play.”
