The City of Georgetown is hosting several events for Earth Day this year.
Family Nature Fest at Garey Park
This yearβs Family Nature Fest will be a four-day virtual and in-person hybrid event April 22-25 at Garey Park. Different activities with different themes, including activity and craft kits, trail fitness challenges, and online materials, will be available each day. Earth Day at the Library
The Georgetown Public Library is celebrating Earth Day with seed kits for adults and bird feeder kits for children age 12 and younger. Kit pickup will be from April 20-26. Although seed kits are sold out, leftovers may be available April 27. Find out more at library.georgetown.org.
Earth Day Recycling event
The Cityβs solid waste department will host an Earth Day recycling event from 12:30-3:30 p.m. April 24 at Purl Elementary School, 1953 Maple St. The team will be shredding paper, as well as collecting tires and electronics. Individuals are limited to three boxes or sacks of paper for shredding and up to four tires per person.
There is no limit on electronic items. To participate, please bring a donation for All Things Wild Rehabilitation, which rescues, rehabilitates, and releases sick, injured, orphaned, and displaced wildlife in Central Texas.
