The Georgetown Family YMCA, the Georgetown Project
Afterschool Alliance and Wolf Ranch Town Center are teaming up to host the YMCA’s annual Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, May 8 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Located in the Ross Dress for Less parking lot at Wolf Ranch Town Center, this free event will highlight local programs offered to kids and teens in the Georgetown community. Families can enjoy crafts, fun music, bouncy houses, emergency vehicles and informational booths.
The Georgetown Project Afterschool Alliance partners hosted youth service events in April to plan wellness education activities for this event and will have informational booths about their youth programs. Confirmed participants include
The Georgetown Project NEST Empowerment Center and the City of Georgetown Parks and Recreation Youth Advisory Board. The Georgetown Project is promoting youth connection to the community by inviting local high
school students to volunteer as part of Global Youth Service Day. Funding from Youth Service America and the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation is helping support the youth service events.
Other participating organizations include Huntington Learning Center, School of Rock, The Kindness Campaign, Chick-Fil-A and the Austin School of Fashion Design.
