On Saturday, November 5th, ROCK, Ride on Center for Kids will held it’s first-ever Cowgirl Bruncheon at the Merlin Hoppe arena.
“ROCK is excited to welcome women from throughout the local business community for an inspirational afternoon with emcee and Cowboy Hall of Famer, Patti Colbert and keynote speaker and Cowgirl Hall of Famer, Dr. Eleanor Green,” the organization said. “Guests will be inspired by Dr. Greenβs experiences as a female pioneer within the equine industry.”
The theme of the woman-focused bruncheon is “Courage & Grit,” and will include brunch, wine, raffles, a special table decorating competition, and keynote speech by Dr. Eleanor Green.
“Keynote speaker Dr. Eleanor Green, DVM, DACVIM, DABVP is a Cowgirl Hall of Fame inductee, veterinary consultant, Senior Advisor/Consultant for Animal Policy Group, and Chief Medical Officer for Chou2 Pharma,” the organization said. “Her career in equine veterinary medicine spans four decades and is comprised of many βfirstsβ including the first female dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University and the first female president of three national veterinary associations. Dr. Green currently serves as Professor Emerita and Dean Emerita of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University.”
The event will be emceed Patti Colbert who’s own lifelong career in the equine industry includes working with the Texas Quarter Horse Association, American Quarter Horse Association, the Mustang Heritage Foundation and her own firm, as well as creating the Extreme Mustang Makeover events in 2007. Colbert has also been the recipient of several awards including American Horse Publications Innovator of the Year and the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame. Colbert currently serves on the Hall of Fame board and the Board of Advisors for ROCK, and still enjoys competing in the stock horse of Texas events.
