The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is hosting a “Be a CHAMPion” adoption celebration from January 13 to 16.
“In 2019, the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter aided one of the most heartbreaking cases they had ever seen. Champ, a vibrant bull terrier, had been allegedly drug and run over by a pickup truck, sustaining injuries that required months of treatment and surgery. In January 2020, Champ was officially adopted and showed the world how heroic shelter dogs and the people who love them are,” the shelter wrote.
In celebration and in honor of Champ’s Day, the shelter said, the shelter is hosting a $3 adoption event for adult dogs and cats.
“Each one of these cats and dogs have their own origin story, but their epic adventure won’t be complete without you,” the shelter wrote. “Adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, all age-appropriate vaccinations, a microchip that the shelter will register for you and a voucher for a free wellness exam with participating veterinary clinics.”
All adoptable pets can be previewed online at wilcopets.org, and those interested in adopting should email adoption@wilco.org to schedule priority-service appointment. Walk-ins are also welcome, the shelter added.
“The shelter hopes to see many residents come out to adopt so they can be a CHAMPion to their own furry superhero.” the shelter said.
The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is located at 1855 SE Inner Loop in Georgetown and is open from noon to 6 PM daily. Learn more at wilcopets.org.
