The Texas Senate has recognized Sun Cityβs 25th anniversary in an official proclamation!
βProclaimed, That the Senate of the State of Texas hereby commend the citizens of Sun City on their many contributions to the Georgetown community and to the growth and prosperity of our state and extend to them best wishes for the future on the occasion of its 25th anniversary,β Senate Proclamation No. 108 reads.
Jim Romine, Executive Director for the Sun City Texas Community Association, told Hello Georgetown, he is grateful for Senator Schwertnerβs effort to acknowledge the communityβs accomplishments and anniversary.
βIt shows that our states legislature is aware of our wonderful community and the many great things our residents do for the greater community and State,β Jim Romine, Executive Director for the Sun City Texas Community Association, told Hello Georgetown. βI am very proud of the Senateβs recognition of our 25th Anniversary and appreciate Senator Schwertnerβ s time recognizing our 25th anniversary.β
Sun City, which was built in 1996, by Del Webb, is currently home to approximately 16,000 residents who come from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.
βWe are an active community of approximately 16,000 residents who are diverse and come from all over the world to live in Sun City,β Romine said. βWe have everything from NASA engineers to retired generals living here and our residents are engaged in all aspects of the Georgetown community. We are not a sleepy retirement community.β
Romine also said Sun City will continue to develop and offer first class amenities that residents have come to enjoy.
βI believe our best accomplishment has been building a community of people who work well together and want to give back to the greater community for the good of all,β Romine said. βFurthermore, with help from our Developer, Pulte/ Del Webb, we have developed a world class community with first class amenities and beautiful common areas that our residents are proud of and love calling home. [Iβm excited for] our continued growth and new amenities that will add to the fun lifestyle our residents enjoy.β
