Faith in Action Georgetown has selected Lisa Hill as its new Executive Director as it heads into its 21st year of service to Georgetown seniors. Vickie Orcutt, who has led the organization for six years, will be retiring at the end of February, at which point she will take on a consulting role to help roll out new transportation programs that have been in the works.
Hill holds a Bachelor of Arts in Administrative Leadership from the University of Oklahoma and previously resided in Georgetown until 2014, when she relocated to Oklahoma. She returns to the Georgetown area once again, where she looks forward to reconnecting with the community and being near her grandchildren.
βI am very excited to have Lisa stepping into this role,β said Orcutt. βIt gives me comfort to know Faith in Action will be in such capable and enthusiastic hands.β
Hill recently served as the Executive Director of the Eden Clinic in Oklahoma, where she increased funding, added programs and expanded the staff to better serve the needs of patients. Prior to that she served with LeadingAge Oklahoma, which provides training and advocacy for long-term care providers across the state.
βWe believe that Lisaβs leadership abilities and her previous experience with similar organizations will only enhance the work we are doing at Faith in Action,β Orcutt said.
Faith in Action Georgetown is a 501 c3 nonprofit organization that supports senior independence through transportation and support services for seniors who can no longer drive. In 2021, it provided 4,275 one-on-one rides and 790 van rides to seniors in need.
Orcutt leaves behind a legacy of growth for Faith in Action, once serving 915 Georgetown seniors and providing over 13,500 rides prior to COVID. This growth was achieved with the expansion to a full-time organization with dedicated staff to enhance program delivery.
She also introduced the Go-Van-Go program, which allows groups of seniors to grocery shop several times a week. Orcutt also steered the organization through uncertain times when COVID shelved many programs, introducing the Buddy Program which provided for care calling to isolated seniors. Under her leadership, the organization also provided voting ballot drop of rides and COVID vaccination rides.
βThis has been an incredible journey filled with many exciting new additions,β said Orcutt. βWhile itβs a bittersweet departure for me, Iβm very blessed knowing the organization is in a great place, poised for growth and in the hands of a fantastic staff of dedicated people.β
Hill will take the reins in early February with the help of Orcutt, who will remain on staff until February 28, 2022. At that point, she will continue to serve Faith in Action in a consulting role for a period of time.
