As the 4th of July approaches, the Georgetown Police Department and the Georgetown Fire Department are reminding the community about firework guidelines.
βWe want you to have a fun and entertaining 4th of July, but we also want you to keep our city safe,β The Georgetown Police Department wrote on Facebook. βThe Georgetown Police Department and Georgetown Fire Department warn our residents that using illegal fireworks are prohibited in the City of Georgetown and within 5000 feet outside the city limits. Fireworks are extremely dangerous and annually are responsible for injury and fire damage. Please do not place yourself at risk of fire, injury, or being fined. Leave it to the professionals and come out to the 39th annual Sertoma Family Club July 4th Celebration in San Gabriel Park on Monday the 4th.β
βAs the holiday weekend approaches we want to remind our residents that using illegal fireworks are prohibited in the City of Georgetown and within 5000 feet outside the city limits,β the Georgetown Fire Department wrote on Facebook. βBut whatβs legal? Community members are invited to attend the 39th Annual 4th of July Celebration and Firework show at San Gabriel Park will be taking place on Monday, July 4th starting at 11 AM.
