Alycia Tandy’s Whole 30 Applesauce
Here’s another delicious recipe from Alycia Tandy of Do Yourself A Flavor Catering right here in Georgetown, Tx.
4 Kanzi apples, peeled and diced
¼ cup of ghee
1 cup minced dates
Season to taste with Cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves and vanilla.
Combine first 3 ingredients in slow cooker or pot. It will need to cook on low until apples are tender. At least an hour. Season to taste.
Wanting that Apple Crumble taste without the guilt? Process a ½ cup nuts (almonds or walnuts), leave in the processor and add 2 tablespoons ghee. If you don’t use ghee you can use softened butter instead.
Blend until mixed together thoroughly.
Put some of your applesauce in an oven proof dish. Sprinkle crumb mixture over the top.
Bake at 375 until golden and bubbly. Enjoy warm.
If you have extra crumb mixture just refrigerate and use when needed.
