Artisans’ Workbench Plans Partial Opening
By Charlotte Kovalchuk, Hello Georgetown Contributor
June 30 – The Artisans’ Workbench is planning a partial opening at its new location at 4236 Williams Drive in August. It was previously located on Austin Avenue. The shop, which sells handmade jewelry and other items, will feature a new art gallery, Copper Moon Gallery, that will be managed by Susie Flatau. The gallery and artisan boutique will be filled with local creatives. Guests can also look forward to small, short Make-and-Take classes for all ages and skill sets that will take place on a large covered deck with lots of social distancing. The second opening phase, with the date to be determined, will include jewelry making, metalsmithing, leather working, sewing and mixed media makerspaces, as well as small classes, workshops and other events. The Artisans’ Workbench’s opening could be modified if changes happen in the health arena. For more information, call 512-688-1587 or visit theartisansworkbench.com.
