CrossFit Georgetown has been changing lives in our community for an entire decade, always with a high standard of commitment to its members.
In late 2018, Samantha Shockley took ownership, made some incredible changes, and further raised the standard for its members. Coach Sam, as she is affectionately known, has been in the health and wellness industry for 10 years.
She began as an athlete in High school competing on various sports teams: cross country, track, swim team, even worked out with the football team on their off season! Which sparked her interest in how the human body functions as a whole.
Following this interest, not only in movement, but also nutrition she pursued a degree in Communications, but quickly realized her passion was always fitness.
Forever a practicing student, Sam continues to build her knowledge with continuing education courses and staying up to date with the latest research.
When Sam took over CrossFit Georgetown, she went all in. She has begun developing a team of knowledgeable and encouraging coaches who’s ideals towards whole body wellness matches that of the gym.
The entire facility has been completely renovated, with new floors and state of the art equipment. She modernized the workouts to help members reach their fitness goals, and more importantly, give them the tools and foundation to improve all aspects of their life.
There are now regular nutrition talks scheduled for members as well as exciting goal setting seminars.
She ties this all together with fun group challenges that celebrate hitting benchmarks and smashing goals.
