Thursday May 24th, 2018. You are invited to a Rally to honor and celebrate the sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes with Carry the Load. The relay team will be lead into town by the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association of Fort Hood.
The relay leg captains walk in 5 mile increments carrying the American flag to bring awareness to the sacrifices of our nation’s heroes. Read more about Carry the Load below…
Rally Events for Thursday May 24th at the Williamson County Courthouse, 710 Main Street, Georgetown, TX 78626 MAP Below.
7:30am – Veterans, law enforcement and first responders personnel; and the general public gather at the Courthouse.
Donuts will be served by Sport Clips and Walmart.
8am – Carry the Load Rally Team arrive led by the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association of Fort Hood.
Colors presented by the Sons of the American Revolution.
Invocation by veteran Father David Peters, assistant rector at St Marks Episcopal Church.
National Anthem sung by Caroline Manning.
Pledge of Allegiance led by Master of Ceremonies Ted Acheson, Military Order of the Purple Heart chapter 1919.
Music Provided by Georgetown Fire Department Pipe and Drum Corps, East View High School Choir.

“What started as a mission to restore the true meaning of Memorial Day has broadened to include more than just our military heroes and more than just the one holiday. Carry The Load works to bring all American’s together to participate in honoring our nation’s heroes every day.
“Founded in 2011 by two Veteran Navy SEALs Carry The Load began as a 20 hour and 11 minute Memorial March in Dallas, Texas. In 2012, it expanded to include an East Coast Relay, walking from West Point, NY to Dallas, Texas throughout the month of May. The relay leg captains walk in 5 mile increments carrying the American flag to bring awareness to the sacrifices of our nation’s heroes.
