3/26/20 – A few updates to the City of Georgetown Parks and Recreation operations due to COVID-19:
-The Georgetown Recreation Center, Georgetown Tennis Center, Parks and Recreation Administration Office and the Garey Park gatehouse are now closed to the public.
-All activities on our athletic fields will continue to be suspended until May 11 (subject to change).
-City splash pads will not open on April 1 as previously scheduled. City outdoor pools will now open on May 30 (subject to change).
We are still here for you! You can reach us by phone/email from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Garey Park staff is available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
Memberships/Programs and Events
We are offering an extension or cancellation of Recreation and Tennis Center memberships.
All recreation programs and special events are canceled until May 11 (subject to change). We have been reaching out to participants and issuing refunds/account credits.
3/25/20 – Many of you have been asking about the parks being open. The City sent out this info this morning that makes things a lot clearer. It also says they will begin marking off the closed areas today. Here’s the news alert in full..
“City closes Parks and Recreation amenities in response to Williamson County Stay-Home Order
The City of Georgetown Parks and Recreation will close all amenities and playgrounds that don’t allow for physical distancing. These closures will be in place until further notice. Staff will begin marking off closed areas throughout the day on March 25.
· Exercise equipment
· Drinking fountains
· Skate park
· Gatehouse at Garey Park
· Play Ranch at Garey Park
· Garey Park
· Bark Park
· Open spaces
· Dog Ranch at Garey Park
· Equine amenities at Garey Park
Operating hours for amenities that remain open at Garey Park will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. until further notice.
Park and trail users are encouraged to follow CDC guidance and practice physical distancing by remaining a minimum of six feet away from anyone you pass on the trails and avoid areas where people may gather.”
