Bags are limited; please only register for one per household. Adult and child versions available. Pick up your preparedness bag starting Sept. 8 at the library.
Every Friday throughout the month, join us at the library from 4-6 p.m. for Scan Days, where you can conveniently digitize important documents. USBs will be provided to keep your scanned copies safe.
From 5:30-7 p.m. Sept. 6, there is a presentation on βGetting Started with Solar Powerβ at the library. Learn how to harness the power of the sun to make your home more sustainable and cost-effective.
From 5:30-7 p.m. Sept. 7, join us again at the library for the presentation on “Getting Started with Water Collection,” where you’ll discover ways to conserve water and contribute to a more resilient community.
The presenter in both cases is Daniel Brecht, who has more than 40 years of experience and has taught courses in designing and installing solar and rainwater collection systems. These events are designed for folks who want to be empowered and prepared in the face of potential emergencies. Don’t miss out on these valuable opportunities to enhance your preparedness and sustainability knowledge. All events are free and open to the public.
As part of our commitment to building a prepared community, we encourage you to visit ready.gov. This valuable resource provides information to help the whole community be ready for emergencies.
Additionally, we urge all community members to sign up for emergency alerts at WarnCentralTexas.org and STEAR (State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry) to help first responders know what assistance you or your loved ones need during disasters.
