HEB on Hwy 29 and IH-35 – Added 3/29/19
There’s a lot of work going on behind the HEB store on University Ave, we thought it might be the beginning of the ‘new’ store.
So, we went inside and spoke with the store manager and she said they are not getting a new store. The work going on behind is working on the pipes.
I explained that a new store appears in plans we’ve seen and she said they were told “no new store”, that’s why they have been upgrading the current store.

Would Love to see a Trader Joe’s in Georgetown.
Would LOVE to have a Trader Joe’s here as well!
I believe you need to check out Holt Cat . From I35 you can see their concrete building & their driveway off i35 access rd. They have made a lot of progress.
Hi Margo, good idea! We will do that next week, thank you. And thank you for reading too.. -Anne
Is a Lowe’s coming to Georgetown soon?
Is Costco coming to Georgetown?
Costco told me that the way to get one nearer is to request it to Costco
That is how they decide where they will build next. By direct consumer demand.
It would be great to have a “Big Lots” in Georgetown.
They’re supposed to be building a new gold’s gym on highway 29 by hwy 183. We’re moving to the area and the manager at gold’s gym on Whitestone boulevard told me that they just broke ground on hwy 29 by 183. This gold’s gym would be very close to where we’re living. If someone could give me an address to something nearby I would like to drive by and take a look to see how far it is going to be from my house. Thankyou
Hi Adam, We only have Georgetown Businesses… We have Crunch Fitness Coming into the Bluebonnet Plaza at Hwy 29 and Wolf Ranch Parkway in the Bluebonnet Plaza. And we have Gold’s Gym coming in at IH35 and University at Wolf Crossing..
Hi do we know when the Gold’s gym is scheduled to open?
Hi LaTonya, That’s on the list for Wolf Crossing so it might open late this year or early next year. No signs are up yet. We will add it to the Coming Soon Page as soon as we know something. We appreciate you reading! ~Anne
Hi – do we have any updates on when Crunch will be opening up?
Hi Julie, I had hoped to get an update for you, but it’s not that easy. I’ll keep trying, thanks for reading! -Anne

It would be nice to have some larger restaurants here in addition to Olive Garden instead or in addition to all the fast food restaurants.
Yes, georgetown needs good full service restaurants. Have enough pizza and tex mex and other fast foods
What is being built on williams drive almost to riverary.
Hi Donna, the only thing we can think of that’s going on around there is the Rivery Road Extension. Can you send us a picture to havingfun@hellogeorgetown.com?

Praying for a Half Price Books!
Trader Joe’s employees keep encouraging people to request new TJ’s on the company’s website. Supposedly, the more inquiries they get the more interested they will be in our area.
I sent email to TJ corporate requesting last December. A TJ or Sprouts would be great addition. Agree some good full-service restaurants much needed. Many ppl don’t want to drive south to Austin.
I would love to see Einstein Bagel ?
We need a Barnes and Noble in Georgetown
Need a Cracker Barrel
Does anyone have any information on the projected Cedar Lake West development buy HEB on Williams and Wildwood? If so, do we know what potential businesses are going in?
Hi Natalie, we don’t have any confirmed info for that development. We have heard speculation that a bank and Chick-fil-A will be going in there, but nothing definite and no time frame. If you learn something we would love to know. Thanks for reading, Anne
Please bring a Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, J Crew and more upscale stores!
When will the carnival for the fall be coming to town ??
Hi Nikia, we are told they will be having a carnival this fall, but the dates have not been worked out yet. We are on it and will update our post and share it asap. Thanks for reading, Anne
I just want to piggy back on all the other requests for a Trader Joe’s! A Home Goods would be fantastic also.
How about a Cracker Barrel in Georgetown? The one in Round Rock is always full.
Would love to have a Bruegger’s Bagels here in Georgetown since driving to the only location in our area for a real New York style is on Bee Cave Road in Austin. Beats Einstein Bros. Bagels in my humble option.
We need a grocery store on the north east side of Georgetown. Any plans for that?
Hi Patty, no, not at this time. We have heard rumors that there could be one going in at 1461 and the Southeast Inner Loop. But that’s not definite and not on the north side. We’ll keep our eyes open! Thanks for reading, ~Anne
A Freddie’s burger place and a Torchies Taco place would make the fast food choices here…complete. Then we could build more sit down restaurants…I LOVE what is going on in Georgetown Texas. I hope our roads can keep up ! Thank you for these updates….extremely informative!!!!!

Hi Keri,
We have heard a lot about that too, but our research hasn’t turned up anything substantial. It wouldn’t technically be in Georgetown, but we’d love to know if you find out anything. Thanks for reading, Anne
Posted on Salado Glassworks facebook page on December 18, 2019 by the owner: “Well, it’s pretty official. Salado Glassworks will continue to be at home in Salado. It’s been a tough five months, tough on my family, tough on our crew. We were ready to go, I had the lease ready to sign but I needed a little bit more time to make sure. Then, this little guy in the picture comes up to me and says, “Dad, I dont want you to go to Georgetown “. For months, we have made plans to move. He was excited about the shop moving, and most everyone in our crew was too. But he wanted to talk to me about it when we had some time together. Pretty amazing how a six year olds mind can put things into perspective. Things I had overlooked. So, with some very important advice from this six year old, I made the decision to pull the plug. Salado is our home. We can blow glass anywhere, but we can’t be Salado Glassworks anywhere else. We exist because we needed a place like Salado, and Salado needed us in 2011 when we opened. We are here to stay, and we love you all.”
Thank you Lacey, we will share!
How do you ho about talking to someone about building a Costco in Georgetown?
