We’ve put together a list of businesses, in alphabetical order, that we know are opening soon in Georgetown, Texas.

9/22/18 – And the remodel of the house at 309 South Main continues!
We caught up with 309 Coffee and learned that they are are thinking their opening date will be late fall, they’re making a lot of progress on the construction front.
They will actually be offering a new local roaster, more details to come! What makes them different? “Our vision is just to be a community hub where everyone feels welcome and known, but where they can also get a GREAT cup of coffee.” Learn More Here
A Gift of Time Adult Day Care – Update 8/28/18

A Gift of Time is looking for a building. The process is taking some time because the state has certain requirements for the building.
“A Gift of Time is different than other respite programs. We plan to operate Monday-Friday, eight to ten hours a day, with staff trained in dementia care and an RN to administer participants’ doctor authorized medications and to monitor participant’s chronic medical conditions.”

Barrels and Amps – Updated 9/25/18
The front glass of the new Barrels and Amps has this cool paper on it with their logo. We were downtown this weekend and snapped a pic.

The idea is a whiskey bar and draft house with live music venue. There will be a full bar and casual restaurant with an entertainment venue in the back. Featuring fun events like Vaudeville open mic night, Piano Bar nights, DJ dance nights, Nostalgic movie nights & comedy.

Beyond the Facade Tours – Added 9/9/18
Beyond The Facade Tours is now booking guided walking tours of Georgetown’s historic downtown district. The new tour company was founded by Alan and Nancy Parrish, Georgetown residents and native Texans.

Black Box Barbecue Permanent Location – Added 9/22/18
9/22/18 – Here’s a pic of the building located at 1008 South Rock Street, you may recognize it as the former location of Painting With A Twist that went out of business earlier this year.
The new location will be at 1008 South Rock Street and feature a full bar and larger menu. You may remember that Black Box Barbecue opened their food truck located at 201 East Ninth Street (across from Sweet Lemon Inn) during the Red Poppy Festival in 2017.
Expected opening date – late 2018 or early 2019.
Bluebonnet Crossing Development – Added 10/11/18
This development located directly across from Wolf Ranch Town Center at the corner of Wolf Ranch Parkway and Hwy 29 will offer over 600,000 sf of rental space. The developers are expecting Party City, Five Below and Academy Sports plus a daycare, grocery store, fitness and medical.

Buffalo Seven Women’s Clothing and Consignment – Added 10/15/18

Buffalo Seven will be the new name for Threads Boutique located in Downtown Georgetown. Kris Stevens, a Georgetown resident, became the new owner on August 1st, 2018.
Buffalo Seven will continue to have a boutique side with women’s clothing and a consignment side offering clothing for everyone from high school age girls up and women’s clothing sizes to 3X.

CVS – Updated 10/10/18

They have the inside of the building torn out and they are working on a new parking lot!

Like many of you, we’ve been watching as one-by-one the tenants have moved out of the building that will soon be home for the new CVS.
Well, now that the move-out phase is complete there is some action beginning to happen at 1102 South Austin Avenue. (see map below).
We have some recent pictures for you. They have erected a chain link fence around the entire property. see more pics here
6/16/18 – We have spoken with a few of the businesses located where the new CVS will be. Some of them have already moved out and some of them are moving out this summer.
Downtown Georgetown – Restaurant, Distillery, Ballroom and Bar – Added 10/10/18
The City of Georgetown has approved the real estate contract for the sale of two Downtown Buildings the Old Post Office located at 113 East 8th Street and the The Municipal Court/City Council Chambers located at 101 E. Seventh Street.
The proposals includes a restaurant and micro-distillery, bar and ballroom.
EchoPark® Automotive – Updated 5/11/18

There is no visible progress, just trees at this time.
EchoPark® Automotive, a neighborhood-based approach to selling premium, previously-owned automobiles, is building a new store at 6801 S IH35 in Georgetown on the motor mile (just north of Mac Haik Ford).
Ewald Kubota – Updated 9/8/18

The new facility will include a showroom, warehouse, office and service shop and the date has been changed from mid 2018 to Fall 2018.
There’s significant progress on our new Kubota, the structure has shape and you can see the bays.
Firo Fire Kissed Pizza – Added 10/6/18
We’ve just heard that we are getting a new Firo Fire Kissed Pizza next to the Whataburger on DB Wood.
From their website; “build-your-own pizza and salads from freshly prepared products each day as well as fresh gelato made with the same recipes and ingredients found in Italy.”
Georgetown West – Updated 8/27/18
The City of Georgetown has called for artists proposals for three art pieces to make our new city offices more beautiful. The three areas will be the City Hall Rotunda, Municipal Court Transaction Window and Municipal Court Lobby Wall. Continue reading…

The Downtown West Project is the working name for the renovation of two municipal buildings for city offices. The work began in November 2017 and estimated completion is December of 2018. With the Grand Opening planned for early 2019. Learn More Here
Greenhouse Local Craft Food – Updated 10/10/18

It’s our understanding that they will be having a soft opening at the end of October and then have a grand opening on November 1st!

We’ve been to the Holt Cat Location and they are making a little progress, it seems, here’s an updated image.
Holt Cat broke ground on their 85,000 ft facility January 30th. The 75 acres where Holt Cat will be is located along Airport Road and is tagged for small-scale industry and commercial use. The city is expecting to see more growth in this area.
Their expected completion date is summer 2019.

Lark and Owl Booksellers – Updated 10/6/18
From Kristin Murphy Rountree, one of the founders of Lark and Owl Book Sellers, “Due to some construction delays our opening date has also been delayed, however we do hope to open in November.”
New location will be the space immediately adjacent to Monument cafe at Austin Avenue & 6th street.
“The 3,500-square-foot store will sell all new, general-interest books for children, teens and adults, with a section devoted to local and regional authors. The cafe, meanwhile, will serve coffee, tea, seasonal snacks and a selection of premium cocktails. “The word we keep using for the books and retail and the menu for the cafe is curated,” Estes added. “We want to offer something special.” ~from Shelf Awareness

Here’s a pic of the new destination for OoLaLa Unique Gift Shop. Accents will be open until the end of September, everything was $1 this weekend.
OoLaLa Unique Gift Shop in Salado is planning to expand to the Georgetown Square! Offering fun and unusual gifts, beautiful artisan jewelry, lovely baby gifts, seasonal items, luxury bath items, many candle lines, leather bags, shoes, apparel and so much more!
Owners are planning to open November 2018.
Panda Express – Added 10/10/18

QuikTrip – Updated 9/25/18

We found the lot located at 3901 Williams Drive, and there has been no progress on the new QuikTrip. Here’s a shot of what is there now…
The new store will feature an in-store QT Kitchen, offering fresh made food such as pizza, sandwiches, and specialty drinks, plus the usual gas and convenience store items.
The Georgetown Store Opening is planned for Fall or Winter 2018.
River Place Development – Added 9/9/18
Developers Sam and Rebecca Pfister have big plans for the block located along South Austin Avenue, across from El Monumento Restaurant.

Tiff’s Treats has officially announced that they will be opening a location in Georgetown sometime in 2019. They will be located in a Wolf Crossing Development on I-35 across from Wolf Ranch Town Center.

Westinghouse Business Center – Added 10/10/18
The Georgetown City Council approved an economic development agreement that paves the way for the construction of a 98,000-square-foot business park on Westinghouse Road between FM 1460 and Mays Street.
The Westinghouse Business Center will provide speculative space for a variety of commercial uses, such as medical, technology and professional services, as well as retail space. Continue Reading

Whitney Crossing Development is located along the east side of IH-35, south of the Hewlett Volkswagen Dealership in Georgetown Texas.

Wildflower House of Tea – Updated 8/28/18

They are planning to launch their brand at Market Days on Saturday October 13th. Offering Ready to Drink unique cold brewed iced tea, properly brewed loose leaf tea, and organic superfood and matcha lattes.
Food offerings at Market Days will include scones, cookies, cupcakes (including vegan, gluten-free, and other allergy-friendly options). Plus retail items being offered will be Wildflower House of Tea’s curated loose leaf tea collection, tea sampler gift boxes, and modern teawares. More Here

Wolf Crossing Development – Updated 10/6/18
10/6/18 – They’ve broken ground at the Wolf Crossing Development. And they are doing a lot of clearing. Click through for our pics here and more info on this development.
The future Wolf Crossing Development will be located across IH-35 from Wolf Ranch Town Center and south of Hwy 29. Expected to break ground in April 2018 with planned completion in 2019.
Tenants will include P. Terry’s, Jason’s Deli, Tiff’s Treats, Pet Supermarket, First Watch café and Salons by JC. The new development will also include a hotel, a grocery and an emergency clinic.

The development would include 4 million square feet of space for corporate campuses, a cathedral, bell tower, apartments, homes and retail. Ms. Wolf McLachlan described a place where people could live, work, shop and play.
Located at Interstate 35 and Texas Hwy 29; the community would include a wedding chapel, three lakes, a plaza and arched bridges, a cinema, cathedral and 3500-seat amphitheater.
