9/15/2020 β A new business is coming to the Old Post Office on the Georgetown Square!
City Post, will have multiple parts to their business. First and foremost, it will be a steakhouse and oyster bar restaurant with a butcher shop and open market. All of this will be on the first floor of the building.
On the second floor, City Post will have an event space, including a small bar and stage. The third floor, which happens to be the basement of the Old Post Office, will hearken back to the buildingsβ historic roots. The Old Post Office was originally built in the 1930βs around the Prohibition Era. As City Post, the third floor will serve as a modern speakeasy.
Kevin Cummins, who owns City Post and whose wife owns Sweet Lemon, told Hello Georgetown each of these aspects of City Post will open in phases, with the first phase expected to be done by December 2020 and the restaurant open by early 2021.
