Helping Hands of Georgetown has moved to a new location in Georgetown!
Now located at 1100 Thousand Oaks Blvd, the organization now shares space with the Boys & Girls Club of Georgetown.
“It was a totally random idea one day and when I went to Kelly St. Julien (Director of Boys & Girls) he was very supportive and thought it would be excellent,” Rebecca Huggins, Executive Director of Helping Hands of Georgetown, told Hello Georgetown. “I am excited to have the expanded kitchen and pantry space…I truly believe this will allow us to grow and expand the way we were meant to.”
Helping Hands of Georgetown is a mobile food pantry, serving brown bag meals, pantry bags to individuals and families in need on a weekly basis. They also provided seasonal clothing, toiletries and basic necessities to the underserved, working poor and homeless in Georgetown, TX.
“[This move] means we can properly expand and grow and serve more people, and bring in more volunteers, and take in more donations,” Huggins said.
Right now, the organization said, they are needing donations on certain pantry items like mac and cheese, baking mixes, tuna chicken, jelly, pasta sauce and cereal. Donations can be brought to the new location or dropped off at donation barrels inside First Texas Bank in Downtown Georgetown and Sun City. Those interested in contributing monetary donations can do so by clicking here.
