1/2/20 – Dragonfly Sage Treasures & Tales has closed it’s doors. The last day was December 31st.
“Our building was sold and our rent is being raised to levels that are unsustainable, so we can no longer retain the space we are in.
“We have looked at other locations, but as of yet, we have not found a new space that meets our accessibility and budget requirements…”
We will miss them and remember the three years they were on the square.
Dragonfly Sage Treasures & Tales was located on the Georgetown square between the Williamson County Museum and Mesquite Creek Outfitters.

Closing announcement dated 10/01/19 – Dragonfly Sage Treasures & Tales will be closing at the end of December 2019. Our building was sold and our rent is being raised to levels that are unsustainable, so we can no longer retain the space we are in.
We have looked at other locations, but as of yet, we have not found a new space that meets our accessibility and budget requirements.
712 S. Austin Ave. has been an antique store for roughly 20 years. Dragonfly Sage took the reins on January 1, 2017 to operate the last couple of years. Susan Ney owned it as Cobblestone for 12 years, and Becky McLaughlin owned it as Upstairs Downstairs Antiques for about six years in this location before that.
As an antique mall, dozens of community members operate their micro-businesses within our walls. Each booth holds different antique, vintage, reclaimed, handcrafted, or collectable items, and is curated by a different person. And each person is a part of our family responsible for keeping our store running and greeting customers on a daily basis. We couldn’t do it without them!
A few of our dealers have found booth spaces in antique stores in Taylor and Burnet where the antiques market is still going strong and offers several stores with many great finds. When we officially close, please visit these locations for your continued treasure hunting and vintage shopping trips.
As we progress through the next few months, we will be saying goodbye to some lovely pieces with great histories, and not just our ghost-filled building on the square! There are display cabinets, vintage clothes, antique chairs, reclaimed dressers, and mid-century desks that all need to find good homes before we leave in December. Please stop in and pick up the cool and unique pieces that call to you, before they’re gone for good!
Keep an eye on our social media and website, we’ll be posting about sales and more as we reduce inventory to close. And if we luck into finding a new space, (I mean, miracles do happen!) we will be making announcements to let everyone know.
Thank you to our amazing customers and friends. The journey has been wonderful. Stop in to see us before we close the doors in December!
