Candidates interesting in running in the May 2022 election can submit their applications for a place on the ballot starting January 10.
“Applications for a place on the ballot for the May 7, 2022 election will be accepted beginning January 10, 2022 and through February 18, 2022,” the City of Georgetown said. “Elections will be held for places on the City Council for District 3, District 4 and District 7. Please contact the City Secretary’s office at cs@georgetown.org if you have any questions.”
According to the City of Georgetown, a Council candidate must be 18 on the first day of the term to be filled and must have been a resident of the District for the 6 months immediately preceding the filing deadline, in accordance with state law.
