The community is invited to participate in a mural painting on March 10 and 11, celebrating the 175th anniversary of Williamson County and the City of Georgetown.
“Artist Yasaman Mehrsa has designed the new WilCo 175th Birthday mural. Ms. Mehrsaβs design was selected by the Georgetownβs Arts and Culture Board from among 17 entries,” according to the anniversary website. “Ms. Mehrsa will design and sketch the mural on the south wall of the Williamson County Tax Office at 904 S. Main Street in downtown Georgetown. On March 10-11, members of the public are invited to help join her in painting the mural! The mural will be dedicated during the Georgetown Spring Art Stroll on April 20th, 2023.”
The mural will be divided into three sections to complete from 12 PM to 4 PM on both days. No experience is necessary, and volunteers will assist the painters.
“The 175th Public Art Committee is in need of volunteers to help mural artist Yasaman Mehrsa lead the community in helping to paint the 175th Anniversary Mural during the Williamson County, Texas – Government 175th Celebration,” the county wrote on Facebook. “A volunteer is needed to manage each section in 1 hour shifts while community members paint. A volunteer is also needed to manage any lines that may form if community members have to wait to paint.”
