Cookie Co. Georgetown has teamed up with local nonprofit Brookwood in Georgetown (BiG) to sell products made by the Citizens at BiG.
In addition to picking up a sweet treat at Cookie Co., Georgetown customers can now also pick up something special for a family member, friend or even a furry family member.
“Right now we just have a handful of fun products,” Beverly Querin, Franchise Owner and Operator, told Hello Georgetown. “We have the gluten free dog treats. So many of our customers have their furry friends with them when they come to the cookie shop, so now they can get them a treat too in addition to the cookies for themselves. We also have foaming hand soaps in four varieties and some cute bracelets. We also have some BIG greeting cards which is a nice touch when gifting cookies – one stop shopping.”
Querin said she connected with BiG while attending an event by the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce. Touched by their mission, she wanted to share the wonderful products the Citizens create.
“[I] fell in love with what they do for the community of special need adult citizens – and I was also impressed with the quality of their products,” Querin said. “So, I thought it would be a great partnership to offer some of their products here at Cookie Co at Summit Rivery, as a convenient way for people to pick up a gift or something for themself if they weren’t downtown, or had not yet heard of BIG. Here at Cookie Co we want to be immersed and part of the larger Georgetown Community, so it seemed like a great fit.”
The products are also a great way for customers to learn more about the nonprofits’ mission and work, Querin said.
“Honestly, they look so great in our lobby and is another conversation starter when customers come in,” Querin said. “It’s a great way to share the BiG story.”
Cookie Co. Georgetown is open Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 9 PM and on Sunday from 11 AM to 6 PM. Located at 1500 Rivery Blvd in Georgetown, they offer a four locally made, gourmet cookie flavors baked daily. Follow them on Facebook or Instagram to see their weekly rotating flavors.
