Residents are invited to dine and enjoy performances from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, in the South Main Arts District, 158 E. Ninth St., to celebrate Dia De Los Muertos.
The lunchtime Dia De Los Muertos event will feature music, a live dance performance by Georgetown ISD students, a sugar skull face painter, tissue paper flower crafting, and more.
Pan Tostado Café will be onsite with cafe de la olla (Mexican ground coffee from Chiapas Mexico, cinnamon, and piloncillo) and pan dulce (Mexican sweet bread), as well as conchas, marranitos, empanadas, and churros.
Fuego Latino will have a table serving food samples and other goodies, and will also share the history and significance of the ofrenda and the Dia De Los Muertos celebration.
The event is sponsored by the Downtown Georgetown Association, Central Texas Art Focus, GTX Connect, and Change, Hope & Wellness.
