Faith in Action Georgetown is inviting the Georgetown, TX community to attend their 2nd annual “Portraits of Independence” on Tuesday, August 9 at the Georgetown Palace Theatre.
“Faith in Actionβs Portraits of Independence event is a wonderful way for us to honor a few of our clients and give them a chance to share their story with the Georgetown community,” Lisa Hill, Executive Director for Faith in Action Georgetown, told Hello Georgetown.
The annual celebration of seniors will feature the portraits of 6 featured individuals/couples, including five veterans. The evening will include a wine and cheese reception for guests to view the portraits and accompanying short biographies. After the reception, guests will listen to a question and answer session with two of the featured veterans, Roger Jay and Shari Lakin.
“Jay joined the Air Force at just 19 years old,” the organization said. “Lakin was in the Navy Reserves and went on to became one of the country’s first recreational therapists where she helped many veterans and amputees in their journey to recovery.”
The event will be held from 5 PM to 7 PM, tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children. Click here to purchase tickets.
