The Georgetown Animal Shelter has announces the dates for free spay/neuter clinics for cats this year.
All the clinics will take places on Saturdays on the following dates:
- January 28, 2023
- February 25, 2023
- March 28, 2023
“The goal of the clinics is to reduce the cat population in Georgetown,” the shelter said. “This is the twelfth year that the shelter has offered free spay/neuter clinics for cats in an effort to curb overpopulation.”
The surgeries, as well as a rabies vaccination, are free of charge, and other services are available for a small fee including:
- FIV/FeLV Test – $20
- FVRCP Vaccine – $5
- Microchip – $10
- E-Collar -$10
- Cat Carrier – $5
“Appointments are required for the free clinics, which are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are not necessarily for low-income cat owners,” the shelter said. “Cats or kittens must be at least three months old. Residents may sign up for two cats per clinic.”
The clinics will be held at the City of Georgetown Animal Shelter located at 110 W.L. Walden Drive, and are available only for cats whose owners live in the Georgetown, TX city limits, the shelter added. A driver’s license or other form of ID that shows a current address will be needed at the time of the appointment.
“Call (512) 930-3592 to schedule your cat for surgery,” according to the shelter. “All spay or neuter surgeries will be done by a licensed veterinarian.”
