You can read the summaries from The Texas Travel Awards below:
Mid-Market II – Georgetown Public Arts Program
“Thing of downtown Georgetown as an Easter egg hunt: Art abounds in the Historic Town Square, City Hall, Municipal Court, parks, Southwestern University campus, public library, and historic African American Shotgun House. The Arts & Culture Board borrows, purchases, and commissions murals, sculptures, paintings, and installations from local and Texas artists for public enrichment. Even newly installed historic district street signs were designed with the city’s architectural heritage in mind, created by hometown artists Nick Ramos. Georgetown’s 19th century architecture earned it the designation as “Most Beautiful Square in Texas,” and these diverse and inspiring works keep raising the bar.” (via Texas Travel Awards)
Mid-Market II – The Golden Rule
“Georgetown’s new whiskey bar, The Golden Rule, ranks as one of the nation’s top watering holes, according to The Bourbon Review. The speakeasy0style bar has curated over 100 different whiskeys, as well as other spirits, and serves craft, cocktails and a Southern-influenced menu highlighting local ingredients. Insider tip: Don’t skip the Buffalo Trace Bourbon Blondies.” (via Texas Travel Awards)
Coffee Shop – Black Sugar Caffé
“If you feel your latte is lacking heart and soul, head to this downtown Georgetown coffee house advocating ‘compassion and assistance with all that are in need.’ Delicious pasteries and drinks aside, Black Sugar is committed to serving the community. The cafe remained open throughout the pandemic and the devastating February 2021 snowstorm to serve the neighborhood and first responders and to provide residents a welcoming space to retreat. Clink your mug to a small business that isn’t all hat and no cattle.” (via Texas Travel Awards)
