Christmas season coming to Georgetown as the community gears up for the 40th annual Christmas Stroll!
βDiscover the magic of the season at the Annual Georgetown Christmas Stroll,β the Downtown Georgetown Association said. βKick off your holiday season with some jolly, family-friendly fun at the 40th annual Christmas Stroll held in historic downtown Georgetown, Texas.β
The annual event includes a variety of activities for people of all ages! Visitors can enjoy live entertainment, shopping, dining and more during the two day event.
βChristmas Stroll has something for everyone,β the Downtown Georgetown Association said. βIf you love shopping, youβll love the fine selection of shops in the downtown area and, of course, the streets are filled with more than 150 artisan, craft, clothing and jewelry vendors. Travel back in time to experience the life 2000 years ago in Bethlehem Village, including a live manger.β
Kids can also get a photo with Santa and enjoy street hockey! Also, be sure to stop by the Home Depot booth for a fun make and take project!
This yearβs schedule will include the following:
Friday, December 3rd (starting at 5 PM)
Stores will stay open late on Friday, December 3rd, and the Bethlehem Village will also be available for viewing. Check out products and food from over 200 vendors at the event, and get a bite to eat at local restaurants!
While youβre out enjoying the Stroll, be sure to stop and enjoy live entertainment on two stages Friday evening! Also, check out the Groovinβ with Grinch Street Dance w/DJ sponsored by Pecos Peteβs and free Kettle Corn for Kids from Hill Country Kettle Korn, both of these events are on Friday only.
Saturday, December 4th (starting at 10 AM)
The Stroll Parade kicks off at 10 AM on Saturday, December 4th!
βThe mayor will be in the parade and look for Santa as he makes his way through downtown,β according to the City of Georgetown. βIf you come to the Stroll parade, please bring a toy for Blue Santa. New, unwrapped toys will be collected by Blue Santa Elves along the parade route, which travels along Church Street and Austin Avenue through the downtown Square. Blue Santa is a program of the Georgetown Police Department to provide toys to children in need in Georgetown. New, unwrapped toys also can be brought to donation barrels at many Georgetown locations.β
You can stop and get a photo with Santa anytime from 12 PM to 8 PM, enjoy live entertainment on two stages including Saturday nightβs closing act Austin Nightβs Blues Band on the Main Stage.
You can also stop by the Bethlehem Village and the Whoville Hair Salon! Also on Saturday, enjoy the Gtown Polar Express Train Rides brought to you by Georgetown Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics, snap a photo at the Human Snowglobe brought to you by Don Hewlett Chevrolet, play Street Hockey by Chaparral Ice or 3-on3 Basketball brought to you by Capitol City Bison. Plus, check out Hollifaces Face Painting brought to you by Pok-E-Joβs Smokehouse!
Parking and Street Closures
Please see below for the schedule of street closures:
- 9th Street between Main & Church will be closed from 6am Thursday, 12/2 and reopen on Sunday, 12/5 at 1am
- Austin Ave. between 6th Street & 9th Streets will be closed from 6am Thursday, 12/2 and will reopen on Sunday, 12/5 at 1am
- Main Street between 8th and 9th Street will be closed from 7pm Thursday, 12/2 and reopen on Sunday, 12/5 at 1am
The following streets will close at 6:00 AM Friday, 12/4 to Sunday 12/5 at 1 AM:
- 6th Street between Austin Ave. and Church Street
- 7th Street between Austin Ave. and Church Street
- 8th Street between Austin Ave. and Church Street
- 9th Street between Austin to Church
- Main Street between 6th Street and 9th Street
The parade will begin at 10am on Saturday. Street closures to accommodate the parade will begin at 6am Saturday, 12/4 and will reopen approximately 12 PM (noon) Saturday.

Please note: No-Parking Signs will be placed (as needed) along the north side of the numbered streets and the west side of the named streets between Martin Luther King Street and College Street and between 2nd Street and University Avenue.
Free Parking
Parking is available at the Williamson County parking garage at Third and Rock streets, the lot at Seventh and Rock streets, Eighth and Martin Luther King Jr. streets, and the City parking lot on the west side of Austin Avenue at Fifth Street, according to the City of Georgetown.
The City parking lot at Ninth and Main streets will be used for handicapped parking.
The City parking lot at Sixth and Main streets will be closed on both days
