As summer comes to a close, the Georgetown Public Library has said Georgetown kids and teens read a collective 16,500+ days during their summer reading program!
βThank you everyone for spending summer with us and making the Summer Reading Voyage so much fun,β the Georgetown Public Library said. βWe asked kiddos and teens to keep track of every day they read and a whole lot of reading was accomplished.Β A whopping 15,692 total days were read this summer by kids! We asked staff to join in the fun and when staff days are added, the total number of days read becomes 16,371! Teens also read a whopping 1,018 days.β
The summer reading program also included team competitionsΒ and prizes. Team Narwhal won in the kids reading program and Team Hydra won in the teen reading program.
βCongratulations to our winners and a big thank you to everyone who spent time with us this summer,β the library said. βThe kids and teens crew will take the rest of August off. No story times or events until September.β
