On Wednesday, May 4 from 5 PM to 8 PM, Cen-Tex Mini Golf will be full of people golfing for a good cause.
Leadership Program, a program offered through the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, is hosting the event as a fundraiser to support Brookwood in Georgetown.
“We are doing two projects for them,” Carolyn Cummins, a member of the Class of 2022 Leadership Georgetown program and owner of Santosha Solutions, told Hello Georgetown. “One is to build an herb garden, and then the second project is to add an awning onto what used to be their greenhouse, which is now an event space, and this is going to help them to continue to have events in there regardless of the weather…we are really honored to have this as our service project.”
This second fundraiser is aimed at helping the class reach their goal of raising $15,000, and Cummins said there’s plenty of ways to get involved in this upcoming event including sponsoring a hole, sponsoring a team, or coming as a spectator.
“You can also sponsor a team and that can be a business or family, or group of friends,” Cummins said. “Some businesses are offering to pay for a team where the BiG citizens get to play. So, that’s also an option.”
Everyone is invited to come participate and can sign up a team or register as a sponsor by emailing carolyn@santoshasolutions.com or calling. 512-843-1672.
