When it comes to grief, everyone’s experience is unique and can be at times, a complicated process to navigate.
That’s why one Round Rock woman has made it her mission to help others gain the proper tools and support to heal through local grief workshops.
“Grief is cumulative,” Janelle Dolphin, Advanced Certified Grief Recovery Specialist, and Associates of Applied Science, Human Services, told Hello Georgetown. “When situations are not worked through, the heaviness piles up as if you were carrying a backpack full of pebbles, rocks, boulders with some sand and water mixed in….It is important to learn the proper tools to deal with grief and understand that healing is possible. Your grief is unique and you deserve to heal your heart to make room for happiness, joy and new memories. You hold the key to your recovery and the best time to heal is now”.
Janelle’s own journey has inspired her desire to help others. Her older brother passed away when she was six and she also experienced abuse as a young girl. When she was older, she suffered the loss of her grandparents and parents. In 2021, two of Janelle’s siblings died within four months of each other. She also lost her two beloved pets. Janelle also has a son who was born with a numerous amounts of medical problems, another loss of hopes, dreams and expectations.
Janelle is deeply and personally aware of the impact grief can have on an individual’s life.
“In late 2021, I found The Grief Recovery Methodยฎ, which literally saved my life,” Janelle said. “The impact of this program is so life-changing that I decided to become a Grief Recovery Method Specialistยฎ. I am so grateful to be able to bring hope and healing through these exceptional, educational programs.”
Janelle now facilitates a variety of one-on-one and group grief recovery classes, virtual and in-person at Anchored Wellness in Georgetown, TX, including:
- The Grief Recovery Method
- Helping Children with Loss
- Pet Loss Support
These programs, she said, help participants through grief which can come in all shapes and sizes including:
- Bullying
- Pet Loss
- Moving
- Addiction
- Miscarriage
- Relationship Struggles
- Death
- Divorce
- Abortion
- Financial Hardship/Success
- Chronic Illness
“You canโt paint a room with a hammer and a screwdriver,” Janelle said. “You need the correct tools. Grief is an emotional response to loss, yet most of the tools weโve acquired for dealing with grief are either intellectual or spiritual. They donโt get to the heart of the matter. Grief is emotional and the consequences of unresolved grief can lead to anxiety, depression, over eating, alcohol and drug use, just to name a few.
Janelle is ready and available to help people begin their healing journey and anyone interested can schedule a free consultation call at https://calendly.com/janelledolphin.
“[Grief work is for] anyone who has experienced the conflicting feelings caused by the end of or change in a familiar pattern,” Janelle said. “I would be honored to walk with you on your journey with any loss you have incurred; such as, addiction, birth of a child with disabilities, suicide, infant loss, job loss, abortion, caring for a sick parent, miscarriage, death, divorce and many others.”
A variety of investment options are available, Janelle added.
