GTX Film has announced the winners of their 4th annual film festival!
βWOW! WOW! WOW! The 2022 4th Annual GTX FILM Festival held on Saturday, October 1st in Georgetown, TX was a HUGE success and the venue was fantastic,β the organization wrote on Instagram. βFrom the films to the filmmakers to the attendees, everyone had a great time and new connections were made. Many congrats to all our film selections and to the winners.β
The winners are as follows:
- Best Foreign Feature: The Ugly Truth directed by Krishna Ashu Bhati
- Best Foreign Short: A Roll in the Hay directed by Geoffrey Fighiera
- Best Narrative Short: Ms. Rossi 2: Ms. Rossi Takes the Cake directed by Pat Battistini
- Best Narrative Feature: Ranch Water directed by Sophie Miller
- Best Student Short: Tejano Night directed by Alexander Rosales
- Best Youth Short: Shelter directed by Percy Peck
- Best Documentary Feature: My Stupid Tribute Band directed by Michael Alex Mroz
GTX Film told Hello Georgetown the festival attendees came from Georgetown and surrounding communities, as well as as far as Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio, and 15 filmmakers attended in person.
The 2023 Film Festival will take place September 30 at the Doug Smith Performing Arts Center. Filmmakers can already submit their films for next year. Learn more at https://gtxfilm.org.
