Handcrafts Unlimited is presenting the Georgetown Quilt Show It’s Tulip TimeΒ on Friday and Saturday March 24-25.
“We’ll have silent auctions, a raffle quilt, many local vendors present, a tea room, and a challenge block to work on next year’s raffle quilt,” Shop Director Kate Challingsworth said. “There will also be scissor and knife sharpening available.”
The show will feature over 80 quilts in multiple categories and some will be available for purchase after the show.
Handcrafts Unlimited is also celebrating its 40 years in business on the Historic Downtown Square and Challingsworth attributes its success to the Georgetown community.
“We’re the oldest continuously operating business on the square,” Challingsworth said. “That speaks a lot about the local artisans and community because they have supported us for 40 years. That is a big deal and we love being a part of this community.”
The store is celebrating its anniversary all year and each month they are doing something fun in the shop. They are also selling t-shirts to commemorate the special anniversary. Visit the storefront or its Facebook page to view the shirt design and place an order.
The quilt show will be held from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Community Center in San Gabriel Park at 445 E. Morrow Street. Tickets are $7 at the door and the event is open to the public to come admire the beautiful quilts and participate in the fun.
