On October 23, Georgetown residents will have the opportunity to safely and conveniently dispose of their prescription drugs.
“October 23 is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day,” according to the Health Williamson County Facebook page. “Organized by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Take-Back Day provides a safe and convenient way of disposing of prescription drugs (controlled and non-controlled). Keeping these medications in the house can put pets and kids at risk, and disposing of them in other ways can harm the environment.”
From 10am–2pm on Saturday, October 23, individuals dispose of unused or expired medications at the Legacy Hills Park Pavilion located at 200 Del Webb Blvd in Sun City, or the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office located at 508 S. Rock Street in Georgetown.
“Too often, unused prescription drugs find their way into the wrong hands,” according to the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day website. “That’s dangerous and often tragic. That’s why it was great to see thousands of folks from across the country clean out their medicine cabinets and turn in – safely and anonymously – a record amount of prescription drugs.”
