The unveiling of a new mural, located on the front of Wag Heaven’s Downtown Georgetown location, along with a pet vigil will take place Saturday September 17th at 7:00pm. It will consist of Angel’s Wings celebrating the joy that pets bring and honoring those that have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
βItβs a special project for us,” says Jeff Manley, Co-Owner of Wag Heaven. “The image of the wings is composed of a mosaic of pictures including rescued and adoptable dogs, cats and other pets from our local shelters and rescue agencies. Residents also contributed pictures, as did our staff and their families. And as a special tribute, pictures of the dogs lost last September 18th at the Ponderosa Pet Resort fire are also included.”
A candle light vigil will be held at the unveiling to remember pets who have passed over the last year, with prayer by Mother Mary Ann Huston of Grace Episcopal Church. βThis is quite an honor as she and her husband Michael lost their dog, Piper, at the Ponderosa Fire,β adds Manley.
The Sun City Pet Club will be in attendance to read the Rainbow Bridge Poem, followed by a moment of silence. K-9 Deputies from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department are scheduled to attend. August Beverage Company will be at the event to provide free cold brew while supplies last.
Wag Heaven is grateful for the assistance of Minuteman Press for designing and installing the mural.
The event will begin at 7:00pm in front of Wag Heaven Pet Supplies and Self-Serve Dog Wash’s Downtown location at 205 W 6th St #115, behind Monument CafΓ©, next door to the Lark and Owl Booksellers, and directly across the street from the Williamson County Sherriffβs Office building, at the corner of 6th and Rock St, just a block away from the Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas.
