Georgetown Parks and Recreation is inviting the public to hear the survey results of the Master Plan survey on Wednesday, August 25.
βThe presentation will include results from the mailed and open surveys, data collection from facility and park inventories, and other project analysis,β Georgetown Parks and Recreation wrote. βParticipants will have the opportunity to ask questions during a question-and-answer session at the end of the event.β
Participants can attend this upcoming meeting in person at City Council Chambers (510 W. Ninth St) or via Zoom. The meeting begins at 6 PM.
Earlier this year, the department send 4,000 residents postcards in the mail asking them to participate in a survey to help the department better understand the communityβs usage of and needs for the city parks and recreation system. Later, the department created an open survey for any resident who wanted to participate.
Both of these surveys are part of the departmentβs efforts to create a new 10-year master plan which will will provide a vision for the Parks and Recreation Department and act as a guide over the next decade.
βThe master plan will prioritize the communityβs desires for upgrading and improving parks and recreational assets to develop goals, policies, and guidelines as well as an implementation plan,β the city said.
The plan is expected to be completed by January 2022.
