Recreation Center Closed Sept. 5-11 for Preventive Maintenance

The Georgetown Recreation Center, 1003 N. Austin Ave., will be closed Sept. 5-11, 2022, to complete preventive maintenance and upgrades to the facility.

The following items will be of focus during this year’s closure:

• Deep cleaning of floors and surfaces in the facility
• Removal and replacement of the existing strength and cardio equipment in the weight room, pending delivery
• Removal of current spin bikes and installation of new spin bikes in the loft, pending delivery
• New divider curtains to be installed in both basketball gyms as well as electronic height adjusters for the basketball goals in Gym #2
• Refinishing of wood floors in aerobics room and racquetball courts
• Staff training, mission creation, and team building opportunities
• Administrative tasks and organization
