On Monday, March 27th, registration will open for the 2023 Junior Police Academy at the Georgetown Police Department.
“The Georgetown Police Department is hosting its 9th annual Junior Police Academy this summer,” according to the Georgetown Police Department. “The JPA is a camp designed to strengthen the connection between law enforcement and local youth ages 8-12, giving them a chance to see what it is like to become a cadet police officer over their summer vacation.”
32 slots are available for each camp which will take place starting in June and continue through early August. Camps are Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to 4 PM.
“The free camp, geared toward Georgetown students, is modeled after the police academies that adults attend to become sworn peace officers,” according to the Georgetown Police Department. “Due to the large number of registrations, we receive each year, we are only accepting GEORGETOWN RESIDENT CHILDREN into our camps this year.”
