“Being from Houston and a Baylor University Grad, I have always had a passion for this area,” Brad Wright, owner of Restoration Oaks Co., told Hello Georgetown. ” After spending roughly 20 years in the software industry I felt a disconnect between what my daily work brought to the lives of my customers and my personal values. While technology has enhanced the standard of living for millions of people here and around the world, it can also serve as a means by which we are separated from our families in our own home.”
Through Restoration Oaks Co., Wright said he hopes to help reconnect families and friends, whether it’s gathering around a custom made dinner table, or sitting on the front porch in handmade chairs.
“With Restoration Oaks, I am combining my entrepreneurial passion with my love of woodworking to create a business that’s focus is to bring families together through creating one of a kind, heirloom quality furniture,” Wright said. “I want our products to serve as a connection point for our customers’ homes rather than something that can create distance. Whether it is by building a beautiful and functional kitchen table or adding unique and interesting pieces of furniture that people want to gather around and share a meal, we are trying to play a small part in bringing people together.”
These pieces, he added, not only impact the family and home that houses them, but also ripples out into the Georgetown community.
“Our desire is to create a positive impact for our community through providing furnishings our customers connect with in their homes every day,” Wright said. “We are committed to building the Georgetown community by building our products here in Georgetown, supporting other local businesses and suppliers, using local and sustainably sourced materials and operating with integrity by providing products that our customers will cherish and will last for generations.”
At it’s core, Restoration Oaks is dedicated to building more than just things, but the people, businesses and the community around them as well.
