Faith in Action Georgetown is hosting its first annual Roaring β20s Mini Golf Gala to top off a year of celebrations marking the organizationβs 20 years of service to Georgetown seniors.
This final event will feature a mini golf tournament followed by dinner in an elegant tented outdoor area. Live jazz will accompany the evening that will also include raffle items such as a charcoal grill from ACE Hardware, a live Elvis impersonator and other fun items. There will also be silent auction items for attendees to bid on.
βWe just want to invite everyone to purchase a ticket or a table and join us for a really great time,β said Vickie Orcutt, Executive Director. βThere have been plenty of things for people to worry about in the last year and a half. We hope this is an opportunity for them to throw on their 1920s costume, grab a putter and let their hair down a little.β
The gala will award first, second and third place prizes, which will be given away during the dinner program which will also feature a costume contest.
βWe are going to have a panel of impartial judges to determine the winner,β said Orcutt. βItβs all in good fun to help us celebrate 20 years of helping provide senior adult independence.β
For Orcutt, it will also be one last hurrah as the Executive Director of Faith in Action. After six years at the helm, Orcutt announced she will be stepping into retirement in February.
“These things are always bittersweet, but we have a great team and I just know the future is very bright for Faith in Action Georgetown,β she said, βso letβs celebrate that!β
