Sanctuary Holistic Kitchen is celebrating their eighth anniversary in Georgetown, TX!
“Sanctuary Holistic Kitchen is a Top-Allergy Free Herbal Apothecary, Natural Food Shop & Education Center,” Robin Cervantes, Founder of Sanctuary Holistic Kitchen, Certified Integrative Health Counselor, Herbalist, told Hello Georgetown. “We hand craft herbal remedies, botanical skin care & health focused grab and go foods. Our apothecary offers bulk herbs & spices and refills many of our products we make in house for more sustainable purchases.”
Cervantes originally started the business after struggling with finding healthy foods, skin care and supplements that would work with her own allergies and food sensitivities.
“I wanted to create a safe space for people to find health forward products that were easy to navigate around allergens with mindful ingredients,” Cervantes said. ” SHK is not just a store, but we are a community of passionate, educated health professionals from many different backgrounds who truly wish to help people feel their best. So, when you enter our space you have a plethora of knowledge to help you wherever you are on your healing journey.”
The business has thrived, even in the midst of a pandemic and several years of intense winter storms, Cervantes said. Sanctuary Holistic Kitchen looks forward to a future full of continued growth and opportunities to educate the community about health and wellness.
“In the past year we have really worked hard to resurrect our educational offerings at SHK,” Cervantes said. “Our classroom allows us the space to teach kids to adults in healthy cooking, seasonal & intuitive eating, herbalism and sustainable gardening practices. We really love sharing our passions with the community and see all ages gain new life long skills to help them thrive. We are always looking to cast our health ripple further into the community and have quarterly Herbal Intensives scheduled throughout the year, with our first being March 25th.”
The March event will be a full day filled with opportunities to take classes from some of Texas’ most accomplished herbal educators, she added, as well as additional classes in a variety of subjects and topics.
“From Medicinal Plant Walks to Textiles & Plant Dyes to Herbal sensory activities for the kiddos,” Cervantes said. “A Seed Swap and Mocktail hour will offer a chance to mingle with other health & herb enthusiasts in the area. We look forward to seeing how these events grow and enrich the Greater Georgetown Area.”
