Seeds of Strength, a Georgetown-based nonprofit and women’s giving circle was recognized in late August with the Good Neighbor Award from Capital Idea, a decade-long partner whose mission is to lift working adults out of poverty and into living-wage careers through education and career advancement.
The award honors community builders in Williamson County, and Seeds of Strength certainly steps up to that challenge. Since its founding in 2010, Seeds of Strength has been supporting nonprofits that serve the Georgetown community.
βHelping Georgetown residents like Alicia (Rodriquez) to fulfill dreams and enrich lives is part of the mission of Seeds of Strength,β said President Marsi Liddell.Β βWe are honored to receive the Whitlow Good Neighbor award from Capital Idea.β
Since 2012, Seeds of Strength has invested more than $95,000 in Capital IDEAβs mission. This funding has been used to help Georgetown students attend Austin Community College and provides other resources to assist them throughout their educational journey so that they can successfully land a job in their field.
