GEORGETOWN, Texas—St. David’s Georgetown Hospital is expanding access to specialized cardiac care with the opening of a new cardiac catheterization lab and outpatient cardiovascular imaging center. These two spaces allow for specialized diagnostics and cardiac treatments using the latest imaging technology.
“As the City of Georgetown continues to expand, we are committed to supporting the growing healthcare needs of our community,” Kyle Landry, chief executive officer of St. David’s Georgetown Hospital, said. “The expansion of cardiovascular services at St. David’s Georgetown Hospital will allow us to provide a higher level of specialized cardiac care right here at home for Georgetown residents.”
The cardiac catheterization lab adds cardiac catheter technology to the hospital’s preexisting interventional radiology suite. The addition of this technology allows for physicians to perform minimally invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures to diagnose blockages, open blood vessels and remove blockages in the arteries and chambers of the heart.
The cardiovascular imaging center, located in the Scenic Drive Medical Office Building on the campus of St. David’s Georgetown Hospital, provides outpatient diagnostic cardiac imaging services. The imaging center includes three ultrasound rooms designed to perform vascular ultrasounds and echocardiograms, and an additional room that is equipped with technology to provide stress echocardiograms.
The addition of these cardiac imaging services at St. David’s Georgetown Hospital will provide Georgetown residents with access to physicians affiliated with Austin Heart and will allow for diagnosis and treatment of cardiac conditions.
