Uncommon Candle Company has celebrated their 1st anniversary of business in Georgetown, TX!
Owned and operated by Payton Thomas, Uncommon Candle Company creates and sells 100% soy candles.
“I started my business as a healthier alternative to a lot of candles that are currently out on the market,” Thomas said, “I kept getting headaches from the overwhelmingly strong candles that I was previously purchasing, and when I looked into them I realized they had a very long list of ingredients that I could not even pronounce. I decided then to start making my own candles and only including 3 ingredients; 100% soy wax, unrefined organic coconut oil, and fragrance oil.”
The business does not have a physical location, but instead operates largely online.
“My candles are very popular with people that also were getting headaches when they burned candles, and also people that do not like/are sensitive to overwhelmingly strong candles,” Thomas said.
With dozens of scents, Thomas said she is looking forward what the future holds as she continues to create and innovate.
“Since I make all my own scents and labels it’s always exciting to create something different,” Thomas said. “I’m excited to make new products and design new labels, to tap into my creativity and see what I can create.”
