One of the things that makes our community so special is the countless people who are committed to uplifting and serving those around them. Georgetown isn’t just where you live, it’s how you live, and at Hello Georgetown, we want to recognize these every day Hometown Heroes. We’ve teamed up with Cookie Co. Georgetown to do that!
This week, we recognize Cat Phelps who serves our community in a variety of ways from the Georgetown Family YMCA, to the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, to the Georgetown Rotary Club and more!
“Cat Phelps is the epitome of a servant leader. She positions herself in service and support to everyone around her,” Laura Terry wrote when nominating Phelps. “From her staff and campers at the YMCA (where she serves as Director) to the board of directors and members at the Rotary (where she serves as President) to the classmates and volunteers in the Leadership Georgetown Class at the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce (where she serves as co-chair) to her home and family life with her two small boys. I’ve also seen Cat working tirelessly for the city of Georgetown by donating her “free time” to local charities and fundraisers like the Soiree.”
