One of the things that makes our community so special is the countless people who are committed to uplifting and serving those around them. Georgetown isn’t just where you live, it’s how you live, and at Hello Georgetown, we want to recognize these every day Hometown Heroes. We’ve teamed up with Cookie Co. Georgetown to do that!
This week, we recognize Hal Hawes, Ray Cummings, Cody Hawes and Clay Hawes who recently went above and beyond during the San Gabriel Fire in helping to protect their family property and the property of neighbors nearby as crews battled the blaze.
“My family endured the San Gabriel fire…and beyond the efforts of the public safety individuals, my brother Hal Hawes, brother-in-law Ray Cummings, and cousins Cody Hawes and Clay Hawes ensured our property and our neighbors’ properties were safe using our ranch equipment and every resource possible to circumvent the spread that would risk our homes and safety. I am in awe of their efforts and strength from years of wisdom living on this property my grandfather bought in the 1950’s. They are true hometown heroes to our family and those living near this area.”
