The crown Williamson County Courthouse will be illuminated blue this week in honor of the lives of Precinct 3 Constable Kevin Stoffle and Georgetown Police Officer Michelle Gattey, who both passed away recently.
βTheir unwavering dedication and service to the people of Williamson County will never be forgotten,β Judge Bill Gravell wrote on Facebook.
Kevin Stofle passed away on September 13. According to the county, he was appointed to serve as the Constable for Precinct 3 on March 18, 2013, in a unanimous vote by the Williamson County Commissioners Court. Kevin Stofle previously served as the Assistant Chief of Police with the Georgetown Police Department and was the Emergency Management Coordinator for the City of Georgetown. During his long public service career, he had more than 33 years in law enforcement.
βKevin Stofle was one of the most honorable men I know. He was a man of integrity, truth, and character. He dedicated his life to serving others, which he did with courage and commitment. He was a role model for not only the deputies who served under him in the Precinct 3 Constableβs Office, but those he taught or mentored along the way,β said County Judge Bill Gravell. βMore than a dedicated public servant, Kevin Stofle was a loyal son, brother, husband, and father. He was completely devoted to his family. The best way that we can honor the life of Kevin Stofle is to give his family time and space to grieve.β
Georgetown Police Officer Michelle Gattey passed away that same week. Her life of service included 23 years in the United States Air Force before she joined the Georgetown Police Department.
βDuring her internship, Officer Gattey decided she wanted to serve our community and be a police officer,β the Georgetown Police Department wrote on Facebook. βOfficer Gattey attended the police academy in late 2020. Officer Gattey began her service as a police officer in January of 2021 and was recently selected to be our next Victimβs Service Coordinator. Officer Gattey will be remembered for her wonderful smile, her soft-spoken manner, and her commitment to our country and our community. She truly exemplified what it means to have a servant heart. Her family, her friends, and all of us will miss her more than words can describe. Rest easy sister. We have the watch.β
