Williamson County Officials to Testify for SB 796 and SB 646 Regarding Housing for the Homeless

Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell and Precinct 2 Commissioner Cynthia Long will be testifying today before the Senate Committee on Local Government chaired by Senator Paul Bettencourt. They will testify at 1 p.m. in favor of the passage of SB 796 and SB 646 at the Texas Capitol Extension Auditorium.

SB 796 requires a public hearing for the purchase or conversion of property to house homeless individuals, and requires that the municipality provide written notice to every resident within 2 miles no later than 36 hours before the hearing – read more here: https://capitol.texas.gov/BillLookup/Text.aspx?LegSess=87R&Bill=SB796
