Join Preservation Georgetown during Georgetown’s Historic Preservation Presentations!
Each first Tuesday, the City of Georgetown hosts a virtual presentation focusing on a historic aspect of Georgetown with hosts Britin Bostick, Downtown and Historic Planner, and Ann Evans, Reference Librarian. This month’s virtual presentation is entitled “Georgetown Loves a Parade and Popular Recreation Spots of the Past,” and will focus on Georgetown’s history of parades and recreational activities.
“How lucky are we…to live in a community that places such importance on preservation,” according to Preservation Georgetown. “Some of us who have lived here for all (or most of) our lives, have seen change and growth, and are intent on keeping Georgetown as historic as possible. Others chose to make Georgetown home, drawn by her historic charm. For all citizens of Georgetown, it is a comfort to know that our city government shares our passion and commitment to historic preservation.”
The presentation is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6 at 12:00 PM and can be accessed at Zoom Webinar ID 927 3323 0171, toll-free at 833.548.0282 or live on Facebook. Viewers will enjoy parade photos from the turn of the 20th century, the Centennial Parade and more, Preservation Georgetown said. They will also share where Georgetown residents of the past liked to spend their recreational time.
