My family (Wife, 4 y/o and 2 y/o) and I enjoyed the show today. However, we had an unpleasant experience at the vintage airplane exhibit. The Devil Dog guys were great, but there was an older lady at the plane next to them that blew a whistle at my children for touching that plane. Then she proceeded to get in their face and admonish them for touching it by telling them “Don’t touch the plane” in a very scolding tone. I was beyond mad that she thought this was okay and I politely told her to either put up a sign that says Do Not Touch or tell me as a parent to not let my children touch the plane. Very rude and unacceptable behavior by an exhibitor who basically blew me off when I explained to her how wrong her actions were. As the sponsor of this show, I would encourage you to address this behavior and treatment of children at a family friendly promoted event. I thought you would like to know. I look forward to any response you might have.

      Hello Joshua,
Good to hear from you. I would agree with you that the behavior you describe is not what we want for our children. Here is the Facebook page for the producer of the show, she would be able to address your concerns. https://www.facebook.com/StephanieNicholsClassicCarGang/. And here is an email for the producer as well Stephanie.Nichols@american-national.com. Thanks so much for reading. -Anne

Hmm … we aren’t acquainted and I’m not part of the event staff … so I stipulate this …

I’ve been around these events for a long time … multiple static displays of an active A-10 Warthog, and responsible for it.

keep your children and your pets off the exhibits. It’s that simple. Courtesy goes a long way and behavior does too. Misbehavior, such as touching the exhibits without expressed permission, reveals the level of courtesy afforded … roping-off exhibits is undesirable for everyone, but to prevent that, spectators need to demonstrate a little bit of common sense and respect for the exhibits and the exhibitors who’ve made them available.

This year, we’ll be bringing our vintage Corvette to the show. I’m happy to show it to everyone that wishes … but don’t touch it … buckles … zippers … pens … etc … yeah.

It’s regrettable you had an experience you didn’t like … with all due respect, control your children and there’s no problem.

      walk a mile, right?

perhaps we’ll see you this year … a little wiser than last year.

How far away is the parking area from the cars and aircraft displays? We’ve never been but would love to go this time. Just curious about if there is plenty of parking and where to park. Thank you.
