Saturday February 3rd, 2018 – The 23nd annual Georgetown Cupid’s Chase 5K Run/Walk and Kid’s Fun Run has something for every member of your family and is a great opportunity to have some fun and support our Georgetown Parks!

7:30am – Kid’s Fun Run – ages 8 and under only
8am – 5K Run/Walk
The 5k Race will begin at 7th and Main Street in downtown Georgetown and finish at the Bark Park on Holly Street. Shuttles will be available to bring you back to the starting line.
Instructions For The 5K Run/Walk
Plan on arriving no later than 7:30am.
Restrooms and a clothing drop will be available at the starting area.
The start line is at 7th and Main Street intersection in downtown Georgetown. Please be in place by 7:50am.
On the roads, stay as close to the curb as possible and always within the cones.
There will be two water stops on the course and one at the finish line.
An awards ceremony for the top 3 in each age division, as well as overall winners, will take place at 8:50am.
Official results will be posted online at www.allsportstiming.com and cupid.georgetown.org.
Photos will be available for viewing the day after the race at photowolfe.com.
Kid’s Fun Run
Kids 8 and under are invited to participate in the Fun Run (loop around the courthouse) beginning at 7:30 am. All participants will receive a short sleeved t-shirt, a participant award and a goody bag! The fun run will start and finish downtown near the 5K starting line.

Youth Fun Run – $10 in advance and $15 the day of the race, t-shirt is not guaranteed with day of registration.
Regular registration rates will be $22 for all age groups.
You may pick up your race packet which will include your timing chip on Friday, February 2nd from 10am to 6pm at the Georgetown Recreation Center at 1003 N. Austin Avenue, or the morning of the race from 6:30am to 7:45am at race start. You may pick up a packet for a friend and/or other family members.
The 5k race is a flat-and-fast course showcasing the downtown Georgetown area, as well as Southwestern University and local parks. The route runs counter clockwise around both Southwestern & the P-Loop by IOOF Cemetery.
Awards will be presented to the overall male and female winners and the overall male and female masters winners. The top three male and female finishers in each age division will also receive awards. Awards will also be presented to the top overall male and female City of Georgetown employee.

70 & up
Costume Contest – Come dressed in your best Valentine’s attire. To be eligible for prizes, check in at the costume contest table at the finish line.
Proceeds – 100% of the proceeds from this race go toward City of Georgetown Parks, some examples of recent projects that have been funded by Cupid’s Chase are two new play pockets for kids, a new Pickleball court, and improvements to the Sunken Gardens.
Parking Information – (from the city)
Starting Line Parking: We recommend that you park near the starting line, as there is ample parking along the roads and in the downtown area. There are free City parking lots at 6th and Main and at 9th and Main. We will have shuttles to transport participants back to the starting line.
Finish Line Parking: No parking will be allowed inside the Bark Park. Parking near the finish line is available at McMaster Athletic Complex, the Parks and Recreation Administration Building, the VFW softball fields or along College Street. No parking will be allowed on Holly Street.
Dogs are always welcome on the Cupid’s Chase course.
Dogs are required to be on a non-retractable leash and have their current rabies tags on their collar.
Please remember to bring along bags for doggie droppings.
Just as you would for yourself, please be aware of your dog’s physical condition and whether he or she is ready to run or walk 3.1 miles.
Owners are fully responsible for keeping control of their dogs.
By participating, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless City of Georgetown and its sponsors, staff and volunteers from all liability associated from the walk.
Aggressive dogs will be required to leave the race. (No refunds if you are asked to leave).
