The Georgetown Public Library is hosting a car parade in honor of their director Eric Lashley who is retiring at the end of January.
“Due to COVID restrictions, a party is not feasible for celebrating him and his 20+ year tenure with the Library,” according to the library website. “On January 26 from noon to 2 p.m., you can drive by and send Eric off in (socially distanced) style!…please wear a mask and stay inside your vehicle, then roll your window down and say goodbye. Decorating your vehicle is optional, but encouraged.”
Those interested in participating should follow the parade route: Westbound on 8th Street, right on MLK Jr. Street, right on 7th Street, right on Forest Street, left into the parking lot where the farmer’s market sits on Thursdays, then left again to the North side of the parking lot. Parade participants will see a tent where Director Lashley will be located.
